Ziggy's
Tasty Jamaican Soulfood
The Brief
This was a self-initiated project whilst a student The university of Wolverhampton. Ziggy's is a Jamaican restaurant chain providing the Islands most popular dishes and unrevealed ones. Through market research in the UK, there are very few Jamaican/Caribbean restaurant chains compared to other genres of restaurants. Ziggy's is designed to fulfil a gap in the market.

Branding
The Jamaican flag uses three colours; green yellow and black, but this is not my only reason for choosing these colours for my colour palette. The Caribbean island is covered in greenery. I have seen this myself having been to most parts of Jamaica.
Yellow depicts the colour of the infamous beaches in the Caribbean. Finally my branding also incorporates brown, this was based on the renowned 'Jerk seasoning'
The font selected for this project was 'Fjord', because Ziggy's food is aimed at being pure, natural and for the soul, it's only right i make the font compliment this; being handrendered makes it more natural. I did edit the font slightly e.g. letters like 'G' needed its ascender extended.
